Requirements

  • 2x/weekly lessons for at least one month leading up to show. 
  • Rider must be capable of cantering off the lungeline and able to groom and tack without assistance. 
  • Rider/parent responsible for bathing horse, cleaning tack, packing trailer, loading horse (with assistance and guidance) prior to show. Rider/parent also responsible for horse care (feeding, handwalking, stall cleaning, etc) – with assistance and guidance – for the duration of the show. ** 

Initial Necessities

  • White AP saddle pad ($10-15 and up)
  • ASTM/SEI certified Helmet ( $30 and up )
  • Riding gloves ( $10-15 and up ) 
  • Medical Arm Band, when applicable ( $ <10)

Eventually, as riders become more advanced, they will need other items for showing such as half chaps and/or tall boots, cross country safety vest, penny bib, grooming supplies, etc.

Firefly Show Fees

One day

Coaching:

  • $65 including course walk(s)
  • $80 for 3 rides or more (excluding back-to-back stadium rounds)
  • Friday schooling: Cost of one lesson 

Horse lease/use fee*:

  • $35/day
  • $50/ Fri & Sat

Recognized (Three day)

Coaching: 

  • $150 for weekend including course walk(s) and Friday schooling 

Horse lease/use fee*:

  • $75/weekend 

Hauling: $20 + $TBD/mile 

Overnight costs: Hook up fee (split with other riders) or cost of hotel otherwise, divided amongst riders 

Braiding (optional): $30/horse 

Rider/family is responsible for all show fees, including haul-in fees (split with other riders) when applicable.
